Pigments2 has some very nice sounds, but I find they aren't as versatile for the type of music I usually play.Įquator's instruments sound more natural and less synthetic.Ĭypher2's instruments sound artificial, but in a good way. I use Equator, Cypher2, and some of SWAM's instruments the most. I can't speak to the quality of the different synth engines for sound design, as I use all of my MPE synths just for the instruments. I'm very interested in learning about FM synths and modular and I'd like some software that can help me figure out if I want to dive into hardware synths. I'd like something that has high quality presets that can be used as is, but will also give me the tools to experiment and learn about sound design. I've got a Lightpad and a Seaboard Block arriving soon and I'm considering buying a synth VST for it but I could use some help making my decision.
